Kiranavali Vidyasankar will be accompanied by Jayshankar Balan on the violin, Vinod Seetharaman on the mridangam and Karthik Venkataraman on the Khanjira.

A Bharatanatyam Dance program by Ramaa Ramesh with live orchestra at 4:00 PM

Orchestra artists: Bama Visweswaran & Lata Suresh (Vocal), Mayuram J. Shankar (Mridangam), P. Venkatramana (Flute), Mudikondan Ramesh (Veena) & Ratipriya Suresh (Nattuvangam).

About Kiranavali Vidyasankar:
Kiranavali Vidyasankar Kiranavali Vidyasankar is a highly gifted Carnatic vocalist, Chitravina artist, writer and teacher. At the age of 2, she was able to identify over 200 ragas, demonstrate the 175 talas, answer numerous other technical questions pertaining to Carnatic music and was hailed a child prodigy. She comes from a lineage of well-respected musicians led by her legendary grandfather, Gotuvadyam Narayana Iyengar. Over the years, Kiranavali trained intensely both under her father N. Narasimhan and her brother, Chitravina Ravikiran. Kiranavali pursued advanced vocal music training under the late T. Brinda and under her guidance has matured into a sensitive musician with a deep commitment to highly refined musical values and has emerged as a solid musician. Kiranavali also plays the Chitravina, and is the first artiste to be graded in both vocal and the Chitravina by the national radio and television networks of India. She has been featured by many leading organizations in India and the US, such asThe Music Academy, Krishna Gana Sabha, Narada Gana Sabha, Indian Fine Arts Society, Mylapore Fine Arts Club, Karthik Fine Arts, Shanmukhananda Fine Arts, National Centre for the Performing Arts (Mumbai), and Cleveland Tyagaraja Aradhana.

About Ramaa Ramesh:
RammaRamesh Ramaa Ramesh is a renowned Bharatanatyam dancer and the Director of “Nardhana Academy of Dance”, a dance school founded by her in 1992. Ramaa trained under Padmashri Smt. Chitra Visweswaran – a world famous Bharatanatyam dancer/teacher - for over fifteen years in a dance style that blends the best of three schools – Thanjavur, Vazhuvur, Pandanallur. She taught as a senior staff member in “Chidambaram Academy of Arts”, her Guru’s dance school. She has performed in India for prestigious organizations and sabhas in Chennai, the National Center for Performing Arts in Bombay and has toured USA, France, Middle East and Japan. Throughout her dance career, she has won several awards and holds raving press reviews to her credit. She has a Masters Degree in Dance from Temple University, Philadelphia and continues to pursue a doctoral degree in dance. She also teaches an introductory course to Bharatanatyam at the Bryn Mawr College, PA. Ramaa has always dedicated her efforts towards preserving the purity of the dance form in her teaching methodology and has leaned on creating and improvising within the limits of the style. She enjoys choreographing to lyrical interpretations of different Indian languages. Rama is the grand-niece of the famous South Indian Poet/ Freedom Fighter, Sri. Subramania Bharatiyar and takes great pride in continuing with her family legacy.

About Padma Bhushan T.N.Seshagopalan:
T.N.Seshagopalan Madurai Sri T.N. Seshagopalan, the celebrated South Indian Classical (Carnatic) musician and composer had his musical training from his mother and from Sri. Ramanathapuram C. S. Sankarasivan (a disciple of Harikesanallur Muthiah Bhagavathar, the eminent musician and composer). Inspired by his mother's bhajans (devotional music), T. N. S. sang bhajans at the age of 7. T. N. Seshagopalan holds a degree in Science from Madras University, (Chennai, India) and a degree in music from Madurai University (Madurai, India). He served as assistant professor of music in the college of Music at Madurai University (1972-78) and has also been visiting professor of music at the University of Madras. He has been showered with innumerable titles and laurels among which are: Tirupukazh Mani, Kalai Maamani, Isai Selvam, Sangeetha Kala Saagaram, Gayaka Shikamani, Sangeeta Choodamani, the Central Sangeetha Nataka Akademy Award, Sangeetha Kalanidhi and the Padma Bhushan by the Govt. of India. Seshagopalan was also made the "Asthana Vidwan" of Kanchi Kamakoti Matt by Paramacharya along with a title of "Sangeetha Sudhakara. He is known for his chaste classicism in Carnatic music. Blessed with a rich voice and remarkable creativity, he has combined the best aspects of the great stalwarts of the past in the field of Carnatic music, and has created his own style and fans. His rendition of Kritis and elaborate Swaraprastharas, in particular, have received huge appreciation from his peers, the press, and music lovers all over the world. T.N.Seshagopalan is a multi-faceted vocal artiste. He also performs veena in the Gayaki style, besides playing the harmonium and keyboard. In recent years, he has also been giving musical discourses in the Harikatha style. He has given concerts all over India and the world.

About JayShankar Balan:
Jayshankar Jay Shankar had his violin training in Indian Classical Music from Alamelu Subramanian and vocal from Madurai Sundar. He has worked with all the leading stalwarts in the Carnatic arena including Dr Ramani, T.N. Seshagopalan, Ravi Kiran, Nedunuri Krishnamoorthy, Dr, K J Yesudas and others. He has performed extensively all over the world and was invited to perform at the United Nations in Paris for the last UN Meeting of the century in 1999. He has also represented India in major Cultural festivals including the “Festival of India” in the USSR and the” Festival of India” in the Middle East. He is also a graded artist of AIR (All India Radio). Besides being a performer, he is actively involved in teaching this art to many students. He has students all over the world and is regular invitee to numerous Universities to judge the competency of their students. He was awarded the “Best Teacher Award in NA -2009” by the Cleveland Festival, which is the largest Indian Classical Festival in North America. This award was in appreciation of his years of service for the "propagation" of Classical music throughout North America. Academically, he holds a Masters in Computer Science and a MBA in Finance.

About Vinod Seetharaman:
VS Vinod Seetharaman started learning mridangam at the age of seven from Shri. Ardhanareeswaran. He had his advanced training under Bangalore Shri. Arjun Kumar and Sangeetha Kalanidhi Shri. Umayalpuram Sivaraman. Schooled in the pure classical music tradition under his Guru's guidance and tutelage, Vinod has developed into an accomplished artist. His performances has been widely acclaimed and appreciated by audiences at various musical events in India, United States of America, and Canada. He is one of the most sought after accompanist for artists on their concert tours. Some of the prominent artists he has accompanied include TN Seshagopalan, N.Ramani, TM Krishna, Sudha Raghunathan, Ravikiran, etc. He is a Graded All India Radio (AIR) artiste with many radio concerts to his credit and also performed in national television in India. He has a master's degree in Industrial technology and is currently pursuing a career in automotive engineering in Detroit.
