Artist Profile Sadhana Paranji is both a performer and a teacher. She learnt Bharata natyam under Guru Smt.Saroja Vaidyanathan and from 1985 was under the tutelage of Dr.Smt.Uma Rama Rao for intensive training in Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi, in Hyderabad, India. She received her masters degree in Kuchipudi dance from Telugu University, Hyderabad, India and graduated with a gold medal in 1992. She holds a diploma in Bharatanatyam from the Govt College of Music and Dance, Hyderabad, India. She has received the title of Shringar Mani from Sur Shringar Samsad,Mumbai, India and "Nritya Kala Praveene" from Basava International, New York. In the U.S. among the venues has performed are: Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Danny and Kaye Playhouse, American Museum of Natural History, Indian Consulate, Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Brooklyn Museum of Art. She has received rave reviews in New York Times, BackStage and India Abroad. She has been featured in the ABCs Good Morning America and Eyewitness news. Sadhana Paranji now resides in New York. |
